The City of Murfreesboro and Rutherford County generate over 205 TONS of solid waste every day.

County recycling centers reclaim about 41 tons per day.

That is less than 20% by weight.

Rutherford County Solid Waste hauled 41,924 tons of trash during the 2013 calendar year.  During the same period, they shipped 5,474 tons of material to be recycled.


Over 75,000 tons of solid waste is landfilled by Murfreesboro 
and Rutherford County every year .
